Introduzione. Entra in scena la Presentatrice.
Presentatrice: Salve, signori e signore…..no! Salve ragazzi!.....No, anche così non va……Salve pubblico! ……Macché……..SALVE! Benvenuti a questo spettacolo, per presentare il quale ho bisogno della mia fedele traduttrice JANE!
Jane: Buongiorno, buongiorno (con evidente accento inglese).
Presentatrice: Siamo felicissimo di avervi qui!
Jane: We are very disgusted to have you here!
Presentatrice: Stasera vogliamo proprio farvi divertire
Jane: Tonight we want to frighten you! (la presentatrice comincia a dubitare della traduttrice)
Presentatrice: Dato che siete un pubblico molto intelligente…..vero???
Jane: Since you are a very stupid audience
Presentatrice: Calma, Jane, Calma….
Jane: Ok, quiet, Jane, be quiet……
Presentatrice: Noi siamo qui per raccontarvi una storia divertente
Jane: A happy, happy, happy, story!!
Presentatrice: Ecco, stavo dicendo…questa storia permetterà a voi tutti…..cattivi, belli e brutti
Jane: Bad, beautiful and ugly!
Presentatrice: Dicevo….di imparare…un pizzico….
Jane: A pinch of….parsley…
Presentatrice: Prezzemolo, ecco….ma cosa mi fai dire, Jane? Stavo dicendo….un….etto…
Jane mima le dimensioni di un etto
Presentatrice: …un chilo…. (Jane mima un chilo)….insomma un po’…
Jane: So! How much? Decide yourself!
Presentatrice: Insomma…..un po’ di lingua inglese!
Jane: The English language! The English language! The English language! (la presentatrice tappa la bocca a Jane)
Presentatrice: Ok, iniziamo con la storia…e come tutte le storie….inizia con una SIGLA!
La presentatrice esce mentre Jane resta sul palco a salutare finché non si accorge di essere rimasta sola.

1° scena
Testo sullo sfondo
Today the first class of our secondary school takes a tour to the zoo. (disegno)
The tour is going to be a bit strange but very funny. “”
The aim of our tour is an interview with the animals. “”
Scena: sedie e banchi orientate verso la cattedra. Entra il professore e i ragazzi si alzano in piedi. I ragazzi sono vistosamente coperti.
Professore: Good morning, students!
Studenti: Good morning, teacher!
Studente A: Good…cough….mor…cough….ning…cough ….teach….cough….er!
Professore: Oh, what a bad cough! How do you feel?
A: I’ve got a terrible ….cough …..cough……..cough!
P: Oh, no! Why don’t you drink some water?
A: Thank you, mister. (A tira fuori una stagna da 5 litri e se la beve tutta, intanto lo studente B starnutisce)
P: And you? How do you feel?
B: I’ve got a….a…..a……ETCIU! terrible cold!
P: Oh, no! Why don’t you put on your scarf? (B si mette addosso una sciarpa lunghissima)
C: Mister…….., can I open the window? It is very hot here! (apre la finestra)
B: Are you crazy? I’m ……I’m…..I’m…..ETCIU! terribly cold! Mister……., can I close the window?
I due cominciano a litigare perché uno la apre e dice “I open the window”, l’altro “I close the window”, finché non interviene il professore.
P: Ok, you stay far from the window and you next to the window! (I due si spostano secondo le indicazioni dell’insegnante, il quale nota lo studente D piegato su di sé). How do you feel?
D: I’ve got a terrible toothache!
P: Oh, no! How can we go to the zoo today? Why don’t you go to the dentist? The school dentist?
D: Is there a school dentist?
P: Yes, there is…it is in the room opposite ours
D: Thank you, teacher…I’ll go… (esce ed entra nella stanza del dentista)
Buio, in scena una sdraio da dentista e alcuni attrezzi
2° scena
Stanza del dentista, D è sulla sdraio mentre i suoi compagni sono fuori ad ascoltare.
Entra il dentista.
Dentista: Well, well, good morning. What’s the problem?
Studente: I’ve got a terrible tooth cake.
Dentista: Mmmmhhh! A cake, very good!
Studente: No, no, ache! ache!
Dentista: Ok, I see..which is the tooth that hurts?
Studente: This one (e indica il dente dolente)
Dentista: Which one? This one?
Studente: no, no, the one on the left!
Dentista: Which one? This one?
Studente: no, no, the one on the right!
Dentista: Which one? This one?
Studente: no, no, the one above!
Dentista: Which one? This one?
Studente: no, no, the one under!
Dentista: Which one? This one?
Studente: AAAARGGHHH! That one! Yes!
Dentista: Ok, ok..don’t worry…(comincia a cantare) don’t worry….be happy…. (cerca fra gli attrezzi finché non trova una pistola, poi rivolto al pubblico) Don’t imitate me (punta preciso sul dente e spara, i compagni si spaventano, l’alunno ritorna in classe e il professore gli chiede):
P: Do you feel better?
D: (senza denti) Yes, I do!
P: Ok, now we can go to the zoo!
Buio – canzone all together now sullo sfondo per il cambio di scena
3° scena
Allo zoo, gli alunni girano per le gabbie ma non c’è neanche un animale.
Professore: Where are all the animals?
B: They’re missing.
D: They have escaped! Hurrah!
Da lontano si sente il belare di una pecora, gli alunni si voltano.
Professore: A sheep? Only a sheep?
B: Oooooh! So cute! (e comincia ad accarezzarla)
D: We can interview her, can we?
Professore: Ok!
Intervistatore: What’s your name?
Pecora: My naaaaaaame is Beeeeeela
Intervistatore: How old are you?
Pecora: I’m seeeeeeven
Intervistatore: How are you?
Pecora: I’m fine, thaaaaaaaaanks
Intervistatore: Do you like carrots?
Pecora: Yeeeeeeees, I do! (l’intervistatore gli porge una carota)
Intervistatore: What’s your favorite color?
Pecora: My favourite colour is reeeeeeeed
Intervistatore: What time do you get up in the morning?
Pecora: I geeeeeet up at six o’clock!
(gli altri alunni si sono stufati di tutto questo belare)
B: Are you afraid of the wolf?
Pecora: (spaventata) Wolf? Which wolf?
4° scena
DEBORAH (REF) Who’s afraid of the big bad wolf?
TUTTI (big bad wolf, big bad wolf) 4v.
EVA I’m the wolf, I’m the big bad wolf
ESTER I only need a sheep to eat
FEDERICO I’m not harmful, I’m not dangerous
MARIA I only need something to eat

SERENA If you’re boy, if you’re girl
LUCA Please don’t be afraid of me
FEDERICO I’m not harmful, I’m not dangerous
MARIA I only need something to eat

TUTTI Woooooooooooooooooooolf 3v.
Don’t be afraid of the big bad wolf
B: Don’t be afraid, little sheep.
D: I’m getting hungry….where is a restaurant?
Professore: Hey, look! The “Purple lobster restaurant”, sounds good!
5° scena
Ristorante “Moody waiters”, l’insegna mostra i camerieri con espressioni diverse
Cameriere gentile (Deborah) : Good morning, and welcome to our “Purple lobster restaurant”
Serena: Good morning for you too. I would like a table for four.
Cam: Please follow me.
Il cliente fa per sedersi, il cameriere gli fa spazio:
Maria: Oh, so kind…Can I have the menu, please?
Cam: Here you are, no problem, take your time
Il cameriere esce e rientra, arrabbiato (altro disegno)
Cam: You haven’t chosen yet? Come on!
Federico: (stupito) Do you feel alright?
Cam: I feel alright! Hurry up, or you won’t eat anything!
Ester: Ok, ok…a dish of pasta for everybody..
(gli altri si guardano e poi insieme) and a litre of wine!
La profe si alza e li fulmina con lo sguardo
Gli alunni: ok, ok…water, water…
Cam: Yes, yes (scocciato, se ne va).
Rientra in versione veloce con il vino (disegno), entra tipo aeroplano e sbatte la bottiglia sul tavolo del cliente.
Cambio cameriera (Eva)
Rientra starnutendo sul piatto di pasta (malato – disegno)
Cam: Here ETCIU is ETCIU ….your pasta!
I clienti lasciano uscire la cameriera e poi nascondono il cibo un po’ dappertutto
Il cameriere rientra in versione timida (disegno);
Cam: Er…is it okay? Is it too hot? Too cold? (mima)
La profe si alza arrabbiata e il cameriere esce impaurito.
Rientra in versione felice (disegno)
Cam: Ha, ha…do you…ha, ha want….anything else?
Cl: Yes (prima sono imbarazzati, poi si mettono a ridere anche loro), a cup of coffee!
Il cameriere esce, rientra in versione triste (disegno), porge il caffè e si butta dalla finestra!
6° scena – il recupero dei pezzi
Ferito e dottore
Il ferito chiede al dottore le varie parti del corpo (my left leg, my nose…) ma il dottore prende sempre quella sbagliata.
Ordine:

my left hand

my right hand
my bottom

7° scena
Il ferito viene accompagnato in classe per verificare se le sue funzioni vocali sono ancora effettive.
Professore: Now, try to repeat these tongue twisters:
I saw
Susie sitting in a shoe shine shop.
Il ferito
ripete, il professore si rivolge al pubblico e dice: “All together now”
La cosa si ripete per gli altri scioglilingua.
LUCA: I
wish you were a fish in my dish
DEBORAH: The big black bug bit the big black bear
MARIA: She sees cheese.
SERENA:
She sells sea shells on the sea shore
ESTER: I wish to wish the wish you wish to wish
DEBORAH: but if you wish the wish the witch wishes
MARIA: I won't wish the wish you wish to wish.
FEDERICO: I was born on a pirate ship
Professore: Now, hold your tongue with your fingers (e mostra al pubblico che deve tenere la lingua con le dita). Fa ripetere lo scioglilingua.
Presentatrice: No! No! No! Non così! Ma che storia strampalata è questa?
Jane (dietro): What’s this story? What’s this story?
Presentatrice: Non ci si capisce niente: com’è finita la gita? E il cameriere che c’entra? Io non posso presentare uno spettacolo così! Io sono la presentatrice!
Professore: Ma che ti frega! Li hai sentiti? Si sono divertiti, hanno imparato tante parole nuove, che ti importa? Canta che ti passa!
La presentatrice prima ci pensa e poi acconsente. “Pero’ cantate tutti, eh (rivolta al pubblico)”
